The sounds contained in the Late Intermediate to Early Advanced piano solo collections of Evocations were created to be pleasing to the ear and enjoyable to the hands. The 25 pieces possess a key scheme that passes through parallel chromatic keys, including major, minor, modal, and tonally ambiguous. Because the pieces developed primarily from improvisations, the performer can feel free to exercise a great deal of expressive freedom in their performance interpretations.
