Sonia has worked in a variety of mediums. She often lets mood, or interest in specific imagery determine her next project. Her artwork is also inspired by memories, spirituality, dreams and her  environment.

 Sonia uses color to excite the senses and make the simplest subject radiate energy. She recreates light and reflections with thinned paint or layer it heavily to add patterns and texture. She also seeks visual patterns in life that evoke a special meaning. Whether it is a location, a specific animal or sunset, Sonia gravitates towards depicting subjects that have revealed themselves repeatedly in life.
