Join August Muse as we welcome Ashlee Springer to our community! This event is free and open to the public.
On Thursday, June 8 from 6-9pm August Muse and Made on Elk will combine to host an artist meet up and gallery opening. Owners Paula Augustine, August Muse, and Ashley Springer, Made on Elk pottery and creators studio, are excited to welcome the public and local artists to come meet, enjoy a pottery gallery opening, and tour the new pottery and creatives studio.
Ashlee Springer is an artist happy to call Elizabethton her new home. A self proclaimed southern mutt, Ashlee grew up in Marietta, Ga and has bounced up, down, and around the east coast making a living working with her hands.
Raised in the theatre, she attributes this training to having fostered and guided her creative path. Often working behind the scenes, you may have seen her work and didn't know it. Her project involvement ranges from stage and screen, to brick and mortar, and everywhere in between. It's truly all over the place, ask her about it.
An admitted Jill of All Trades, she's now rediscovered and refocused on clay. Tapping back into some different roots, Ashlee is thrilled to be making pottery everyday. She loves the history of the process, and takes comfort in the endless ideas that can be created from a simple bag of dirt.
Made on Elk Pottery and Art Studio is her crazy idea. After a few years living without 'making' in her daily routine, she realized a part of her was getting lost. This studio is a recommitment to art, and it's magical process.
Join her in class, for a date night or private event. Wanna hang around? There are different ways to join as a member. Excited to see the vision come to life, Ashlee wants this studio to be a space for local creatives to come be themselves, laugh thru mistakes, loose time, learn together. And most importantly, share the process of making with your hands. Follow @madeonelk to keep up with the latest.
